The Maker

About Kyle

The person behind every piece, and the standard everything gets built to.

Hi, I’m Kyle

I build things meant to outlast me.

I’m Kyle Ingebretson. I started out doing trim carpentry back in 2008, and it didn’t take long to realize I had a knack for building things. For the last ten years, I’ve ran cabinet shops for other people, learning the trade and saving every spare dollar toward a shop of my own. In June of 2025, that dream became real: I opened Ingebretson’s here in Troy, and the real fun began.

I’m committed to staying a one-man operation: quality over quantity, always. I love chasing down the details and building things I’m genuinely proud to put my name on. Staying small is also how I guarantee the work: nothing gets handed off to someone who wasn’t in the room for our original conversation. If we meet and talk through your project, I’m the one who draws it up, I order the materials, I make every cut, and I’m the one who shows up to install exactly what you asked for.

I work in solid hardwood and fine veneers, and I build every piece the way I’d want it built for my own home: real joinery instead of shortcuts, materials chosen for how they’ll age, and finishes that can take the wear of actual daily life.

If you’ve got a project in mind (a kitchen that finally has real storage, a table built to outlast your kids, or built-ins that fit that one weird corner of your house), I’d love to hear about it.

Real Materials

Solid hardwood when the piece calls for it, hand-selected veneer when it calls for something else, bookmatched grain and pattern work no solid board could give you.

Built to Last

Traditional joinery and careful construction mean these pieces are made to be handed down, not replaced.

Made for You

Every project is designed around your space and how you actually live in it, not pulled off a catalog page.

In the Shop

From rough lumber to finished piece

A glimpse at the process behind the pieces: glue-ups, joinery, and a lot of sawdust.
